The International Law Association (Australian Branch) (ILA-AB) is inviting all members to renew their membership of the ILA-AB, as well as non‑members to join (or re-join) the ILA-AB.
Membership of the ILA-AB is for one calendar year, and entitles individuals to a range of benefits, including:
- invitations to events around Australia that are organised or supported by the ILA-AB on a range of international law issues
- participation in a range of ILA-AB committees dealing with particular areas of international law
- opportunities to become involved in the various international committees and study groups of the ILA Headquarters
- discounted registration fees for the biennial ILA conference and attendance fees for other ILA events
- being part of a network of leading international lawyers, including judges, practitioners, academics, and government officials.
Importantly, for those individuals who are currently members of an international committee or study group, you must renew your membership in order to continue your involvement in that committee or study group.
Now is an exciting time to be a member of the ILA, with the 77th ILA biennial conference taking place in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 7-11 August 2016, and the next biennial conference to be held in Sydney in 2018. The ILA‑AB expects that members will have the opportunity to become involved in a range of events leading up to this significant international event.
How to renew/join
Due to recent website difficulties, the ILA‑AB is temporarily unable to process renewals and applications using the online form. To renew your membership or apply for membership, please:
- complete this form and email it to secretary@ila.org.au
- pay the membership fee following the instructions in the form.
Individuals who have already paid membership fees in 2016 need not respond to this invitation. Your membership will remain current until the end of the year.
A notice will be posted to the website when the online renewal and application function is operational.
